The rescues save US!

Today, we want to show how sometimes, it’s not just the animals who are rescued…
From the moment an animal walks through our doors at HSNEGA, our team is determined to make sure they feel comforted and loved.

But in some cases, that feeling is reciprocated and the rescues are the ones who leave paw prints on OUR hearts that are impossible to let go of.

That was the case for these lucky team members…

The moment HSNEGA’s Adoption Center Specialist, Morgan, laid eyes on a tiny rescue named Beefalo, there was no denying their connection.

“When he first came in we had an instant bond. I followed him through his foster journey, and when the time came I just knew I had to get him!” ~Morgan, Beefalo’s PAWrent.

Similarly, that deep connection is something that our Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr. Shaver, also felt instantly with her adopted rescue, Doug.

“The day I met Doug I had no idea I was meeting a new family member, but once Doug came through the doors, I knew he was something special” ~ Dr. Shaver, Doug’s PAWrent.

Doug now lives his best life and visits HSNEGA every week to say hello.

All in all, without our rescues it is safe to say we would be lost. In a way, they saved us.

“Lily (formerly Purdy) changed everything the moment I saw her in our intake clinic, I just didn’t realize it then. I honestly don’t know what I would do without her! I got so lucky. She’s my shoe-eating, ball-loving, best friend and I wouldn’t have it any other way!” ~Sam, HSNEGA Chief Philanthropy Officer and Lily’s PAWrent.

“Jax (formerly Schroeder) has been such a great addition to our family. He’s a clutz and has zero boundaries but we wouldn’t have him any other way! My other animals love him too!” ~Allison, HSNEGA Chief Executive Officer and Jax’s PAWrent.

“The first time I held Kiwi (formerly Melanie) for my staff photo it was hard to let her go. The thought of not knowing how she would grow up kept me up one night and I knew the next morning that she was meant to be mine.” ~Heather, HSNEGA Marketing Specialist and Kiwi’s PAWrent.

“Eevee (formerly Tiger Lily) has been so sweet and a great addition to our family. My wife even considers Eevee as her spirit animal. She brings us so much laughter and love, we couldn’t imagine our life without her now.” ~Kevin, Events & Donor Relations Manager and Eevee’s PAWrent.
