Reading Rescues

Reading & Rescues” is a specific on-site education program offered by HSNEGA that benefits both readers and rescues by providing socialization for our rescues and reading practice for the reader in front of a non-judgmental audience. Whether your children are too young to volunteer or you’re looking for a new way to entice your kids to read, Reading & Rescues is a great solution. Although designed to help children, Reading & Rescues can be for all ages! Readers can borrow a book from our small library or bring one of their own to read to the animals. Reading & Rescues can be done by a single volunteer or a group of up to 12 participants. We do ask you to provide adult supervision for children ages 6-13.

Give with Confidence

At HSNEGA, we want to remember the amazing rescues that come to stay with us. All of the animals pictured on this site have been with us at some point. Some have already found their forever homes, but some may still be here at HSNEGA!
