Stella the Sidekick

Today we want to share the story of one small pup with a large heart!

Arriving at HSNEGA with a compound fracture, Paisley was broken, both mentally and physically. After surgery, it seemed like steel pins were the only thing holding her together. How could something so bad happen to a heart so pure? With a wounded heart and leg, all that she could do was give herself time to heal…

After Paisley’s injuries were almost completely healed, she became full of excitement and could hardly wait to find a family of her own! Not letting her past hold her back, there were only feelings of joy when Heather quickly rescued Paisley after becoming available.

It’s a testament to the resilience of dogs that they can overcome so much and still be able to love and relax in a happy home, and that is exactly what Paisley decided to do! This sweet girl now lives out her healed days traveling, snuggling, and being loved by many. This dog’s worst day turned out to be the beginning of her happiest time on this earth!

“Since adopting Stella (formally Paisley) our lives have been blessed! She has transformed into a whole new dog! She looks nothing like the day we adopted her. She went from being a “mystery” breed to a Shih-poo after her first trip to the beauty salon!

We had just lost our two old dogs, back to back. We were devastated and had no intention of getting another so soon. I was just “browsing” on Petfinder and something about her said, “I’m the one!”.

As my husband puts it “She is one of the best things to ever happen to us”. Stella runs the house and is the boss of three cats. She’s a lake dog, a beach dog, my business partner (she goes everywhere with me), and our constant companion. She is a neighborhood favorite!

Thank you HSNEGA for our precious family member! We only wish we could have had her sooner! She is pure joy!” ~Heather, HSNEGA Lifesaver and Stella’s PAWrent.
