Lost and then Found

Today we want to share the story of one senior dog who lost the only family he had.

Your heart would have broken if you’d seen Mad Eye Moody’s confused, worried little face as his best friend in the world walked away and left him here at the HSNEGA…

All at once, at 12-years-old, he found himself homeless and heartbroken. It’s one of the saddest days we can remember here at the shelter. It crushed his Dad to do it, but some terrible circumstances meant he had to give his boy up. Tears streaming down his face, he asked us — “Will you make sure he gets a good home?”

Mad Eye was like a little lost lamb… but he would be safe here and loved for as long as it took to find his forever family.

That’s when his new dad, Alton, laid eyes on Mad Eye and he immediately knew it was meant to be. Soon after, Mad Eye joined his family with another sweet HSNEGA rescued Chihuahua.

Now Mad Eye has a new dad and siblings who will shower him with love and kisses throughout the rest of his golden years.

“I’ve never seen a dog play so much. Mad Eye Moody really loves his small soft rubber squeaky toys. He has one of the most expressive and cute personalities I’ve ever seen. You would think that there’s a human in there. What a GREAT little addition to the family! I am not sure how we lucked out with these two but they couldn’t be better. It is hard to believe that people have to give up dogs like these.
