Diamond’s Adoption Adventures

Today we want to share the adventures of Diamond, the rescue who has left PAWprints all across the country.

Sweet Diamond was surrendered to HSNEGA as an 8-month-old pup in 2012 at no fault of her own. Quickly adopted, Diamond was ready for a lifelong adventure. After years of being gone, it came as a huge shock in 2019 when, sadly, she returned to HSNEGA as a transfer from another shelter.

Diamond’s new journey started the moment she walked through our doors again. Determined to make the best of her situation, she spent a lot of time outside playing with other rescues. That’s when her loving personality caught the eyes of Nick and Ariana. They immediately jumped into action and added Diamond to their family.

Now that Diamond has found her happy place, she spends her days learning new things and making a mark on this great world with them.

A huge accomplishment Diamond has made is her ability to stick by her PAWrent’s side (literally!).

“In the past several months, Nick and I have been focused on training her to stick near us when she’s off-leash. When we first let her do this, she’d run off after squirrels and interesting smells. She’s been stubborn, and it’s taken a lot of patience, but she’s made tons of progress and she even stays by our side when people pass us!” ~Ariana, Diamond’s mom.

As her skills continue to improve, Diamond’s parents love to reward her with well-deserved road trips and long walks every day.

“Diamond is the perfect road trip dog. We have a bucket list for us to do with her. She has enjoyed walking around the cities we’re in, hunting lizards, and relaxing on the beach! She loves the water. The waves were a little unexpected for her, but she acclimated well and got to float around with us. She’s come a long way and is now loving life with her 2 doggy sisters and 4 kitty siblings!” ~ Ariana and Nick, HSNEGA Lifesavers and Diamond’s loving PAWrents.

We also want to wish Diamond a happy 10th birthday, she is truly a jewel and her shine will never be forgotten by HSNEGA staff and volunteers.

PAWty on!
