When the words soft, sweet and gentle come to mind, I always picture our girl, Cagney. A 2-year-old Hound mix, Cagney is slow to trust, but once she does, she will give you the limitless.

She’s a timid girl who really needs someone to understand that while she may not be in your lap licking your face at first, she could very well be that dog with a little TLC. Cagney may not be running up to her kennel door to greet you. She may not even let you pet her right away or even sit next to you, but give her some time and she’ll be your BFF in no time.

Cagney is everyone’s favorite girl… all the fellas love her (Beau especially!) and all the ladies just wanna hang out and gossip with her (if only we understood what they were saying!). She’s the kind of girl you just look at and feel comfort wash over you because of her calm nature. This pretty lady will steal your heart the minute you walk-in because she’s just so different.

While not super active, Cagney does love to run and play so she LOVES a yard to do her thing. She might be okay with children and is not opposed to meeting new canine friends! HSNEGA always suggests coming with the family and doing a meet & greet with your other fur baby if you think she’s the right girl for your home.

If you were to visit Cagney, you’d see her in her kennel, relaxing and taking it all in. She’s the kind of smart girl who observes and learns… and once she gets the hang of something, there’s no stopping her! I don’t know why this gentle gem hasn’t found a home yet because she’s plenty of deserving. She’s a diamond that hasn’t been polished or shined, but with a little work and dedication, she’d be the biggest and brightest of them all, worth more than anyone could ever give!

Cagney is one-of-a-kind and HSNEGA is lucky to have her here with us. She’s shown us all how to have a little patience and put a little more effort into things. We all wanted to be friends with her and now we are! You could be too, and it would be worth it, let me tell you!

This priceless girl is waiting for you to discover her and take her home! She’s available for adoption Tuesday-Sunday 12-6 pm. She’s up to date on shots, flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, and is microchipped! Come and give this girl a chance… you won’t regret it.
