An Update on Ally

Do you remember Ally?

This small and mighty girl has an incredible story to tell. After a nearly life-threatening incident, Ally overcame all odds to shine as the bright star she is. You can refresh your memory about her journey HERE.

Well, today we are happy to report that despite everything, not only is Ally happier than ever, she’s THRIVING!

Ally is doing wonderfully. She’s definitely settling in! Once we got home it took her about a week or so to understand she was in her new home, and then about a month later she began wagging her tail in response to things, becoming more playful and really starting to relax. Her personality has really come through and she’s such an intelligent, goofy, curious, loving, and accepting girl and I’m blessed to have been able to adopt her!

We’re working on building confidence and she’s almost got house training down. Ally enjoys visiting family with me in Gainesville, she’s taken a ride on Lake Lanier (with many more to come), she’s met my horse several times through the pasture fence and they both enjoyed meeting – like Ally, my horse is very maternal and “adopts” basically any creature smaller than her. One of Ally’s favorite things is laying on the patio chair cushions and sunning herself on my patio.

When we’re just hanging out in the house there’s lots of tug of war and fetch and she likes to sleep with me at night – but sometimes still prefers her own space in her crate. I’ve taken her on walking trails with friends and we’re just now beginning to explore dog parks. Ally recently got a DNA test done with the vet I work for – so excited to see what she’s mixed with!” ~Kiara, HSNEGA Lifesaver, and Ally’s new PAWrent!

At HSNEGA, we want to remember the amazing rescues that come to stay with us. All of the animals pictured on this site have been with us at some point.
