Our Animals
When you adopt from the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia, not only are you saving the life of your new pet, you’re creating more space for us to help an animal in need.
Your decision creates a positive ripple effect that will save and change countless lives. All animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Our Adoption Center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. No appointments are necessary.
Dog Adoptions
Adoption fees include spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations against rabies, distemper, parvovirus and bordatella, heartworm testing and preventative treatment (if necessary) and preventative medicine. They are also microchipped, treated for fleas and ticks and dewormed.

Cat Adoptions
Adoption fees include spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations against rabies, feline distemper/calici/panleukopenia/rhinotracheitis, microchipping, testing for feline leukemia (FeLV) and/or FIV, treatment for fleas and ticks, and deworming.

Legacy Adoption Guarantee
Like many animal shelters across the country, we use variable adoption pricing for pets who are highly adoptable and will have a shorter stay with us. Their higher adoption fees leave a legacy for other animals in our care who are older, require extensive medical care, or need more time to find their forever home. We often reduce the adoption fees on these harder-to-place pets and rely on our Legacy Adoption Guarantee to help balance the cost of care.
