Foster
“Yours may not be their forever home, but you can help them remember what home feels like.”
Through our foster program, animals are given a second chance at an amazing life thanks to the dedicated time and care of our foster homes. Opening your home temporarily to an animal from HSNEGA is a special way to show compassion for the homeless animals in our community. By fostering, you allow animals to experience far less trauma and much more love! Every act of fostering is a beacon of hope for animals facing uncertain futures. For more information please reach out to Erin Coker at ECoker@hsnega.org. Here’s why fostering is so important:
Lifesaving
Fostering directly saves lives by opening space in shelters and rescues, allowing us to rescue more animals from overcrowded and often stressful environments.
Rehabilitation
Many animals arrive at shelters with medical issues, behavioral challenges, or simply needing a safe space to heal. Foster homes provide the nurturing environment required for their recovery and rehabilitation.
Socialization
Fostering helps animals, especially puppies and kittens, develop crucial social and behavioral skills. This makes them more adoptable and better prepared for their forever homes.
Emotional Fulfillment
Fostering offers a unique opportunity for personal growth and fulfillment. The bonds you form with these animals are profoundly rewarding and can last a lifetime.
